Graphic Designer

The role of the designer will be to produce both online and offline materials for both Fraktul and its growing client list. Working in a fast paced environment you will thrive under pressure and produce consistently high levels of work while working alongside the creative director and the rest of the Fraktul team.

About the Role

This position most suits a recent graduate designer looking for a permanent position within an in-house design team responsible for creating engaging, varied and consistent imagery. You must be able to create vector designs and have a portfolio.
Graduates with degrees in design related subjects will be of distinct interest as are those with previous work experience and portfolios of this work. The design team are talented and the pace can be fast, so those able to focus under pressure and looking to learn from experienced colleagues around them will be most suitable.

Personal Profile

Essential

  • Strong typography, colour, and layout skills
  • Enthusiastic, extremely creative with a love and knowledge of design
  • Good attention to detail
  • Competent to a high level in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Good understanding of print and print techniques (creating print ready artwork etc.)
  • Strong digital design skills, website design, email design and design for web
  • Good time management skills
  • A strong grasp of the English language in both writing and communication
  • Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised
  • Able to stick to tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Capacity to effectively manage juggle competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Consistently produce work of a high standard that demonstrates close attention to detail and use of initiative
  • Good relationship builder and networker with a friendly and approachable manner towards members, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Creative services

Delivering creative work, you will:

  • Support the Fraktul team with creative content
  • Conceptualise new marketing material
  • Design website layouts
  • Create vector illustrations and illustrate in a variety of different styles
  • Create and manage print work
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all work
  • Design and create email templates
  • Offer viable new ideas and concepts clearly and effectively
  • Adapt to varied client styles and timeframes
  • Manage and maintain graphic files, including logos, photos, and illustrations

Marketer

Overview

The Marketer helps the business deliver projects and support clients in a number of ways. The Marketer is a highly client facing role, representing Fraktul in supporting existing projects and developing new clients.

The role is varied and is vital in delivering creative marketing, brand and promotional support, maintaining / developing great customer relationships and efficient back-office support.

Personal Profile

Essential

  • Confident, ambitious and energetic, with a persuasive manner and the ability to use your initiative
  • Clean driving license and own vehicle
  • Demonstrable track record of success (two years or more) in a customer-facing role
  • Capacity to effectively manage successful events and marketing communications projects or assignments, juggle competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Able to multi-task and work without supervision, consistently produce work of a high standard that demonstrates close attention to detail and use of initiative
  • Good relationship builder and networker with a friendly and approachable manner towards members, colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Innovative and creative. A natural team player and knowledge-sharer who seeks out and applies best practice at every opportunity
  • ‘Can do’ attitude to addressing challenges and opportunities – highly self motivated and taking personal responsibility for managing workload
  • Confident public speaker – able to brief small groups at workshops etc
  • Relevant educational and/or professional qualification at HNC / Diploma level or above
  • Well presented and highly organised, able to work to deadlines and a stickler for detail
  • Excellent writing skills for hard copy and online, experience with Microsoft Office packages

Desirable

  • Strong track record of managing/delivering successful events and marketing communications projects or assignments, juggling priorities and delivering to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Apple environment
  • Membership / working towards membership of CIM
  • Previous experience writing/editing content for marketing materials and updating websites (using a Content Managed System)
  • Direct sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Experience of budget management, cost monitoring and financial reporting
  • Professional credibility, particularly with a business audience, partners and stakeholders

Areas of responsibility

Client interface

  • Meeting and working with clients on the phone and in person at the office and at external meetings
  • Responding to queries from clients and resolving these
  • Recording client / opportunity data on the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
  • Manage and coordinate meetings
  • Prepare and issue all data required to monitor the progress of work – such as status reports

Account handling

The Marketer aims to add value to the client relationship at all times and is responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the client. You will:

  • Brief internal teams and ensure that work is delivered on brief, on time and on budget
  • Be responsible for managing time and supporting billing of clients, ensuring that accounts can deliver a profit
  • Direct, coordinate and deliver work commissioned by the client, ensuring that all parties – internal and external – know exactly what is required and what is happening at every stage of a project
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop appropriate marketing strategies to meet them
  • Seek new ways to generate new business from existing client accounts

Creative services

Managing the production of creative work. You will:

  • Work closely with the creative team to ensure that their vision is realised
  • Liaise with photographers, printers, writers and other team members
  • Manage in-house artwork production
  • Ensure creative work is delivered on time and to budget

New business

New business generation is a key part of this role in ensuring a robust work pipeline. You:

  • Need to be confident about approaching and developing “cold” leads
  • Must be capable of demonstrating to potential clients the added value that Fraktul can bring to their organisation
  • Need to have a broad understanding of market segments and trends
  • Will be able to coordinate and lead agency resources, as and when required, to pitch for work or answer a new brief

Administration

  • Supporting office administration, including filing and accounts
  • Promoting the business, using PR and social tools
